Our Story
The first poem I wrote was in grade-school about looking out the window at the clouds and wanting to be outside, learning things that were new, not old, having been re-told.  Then my door to poetry closed for a while…

Anyway, I became a software developer for my career where I learned to write code in a very defined and orderly way.  That is where I put my creativity for a while. Then I heard someone read a poem by Rumi wherein he tells of a tree’s branches that grow crooked and we don’t judge on that basis, when they are not perfect and symmetrical.  The message I took from that was not to hold another human being to the standard of perfection either, rather appreciate each person’s uniqueness and so-called imperfections.

That opened the door again to poetry for me and next, I began combining my existing love of photography with writing some poems.

Most important in this journey are the concepts of Happiness and Freedom as I try to embody in the name Angelheron that itself is derived from an experience I had hiking around a nature preserve near the Colorado River in Arizona when a pair of white herons flew over me between myself and the sun as their shadows traced across me.  That was an omen of the role of Happiness and Freedom in my life ready to unfold as long as I make the effort to catch it and hold on.  That is what I have been attempting to do ever since through my poetry and photography.
